Rigi – The Queen of the Mountains
The renovation of the Rigibahnen Railway Station and service centre in Vitznau is a typical task for scenic signage. At the beginning there is the story – in our case: waiting time becomes experience time.
A building with a history, which has been constantly changed over the years through alterations and extensions, is experiencing a rebirth. The choice of materials and the renewed signage, office and shop design are based on the original railway typology. These elements are complemented by an overall renewal of the outdoor space with traffic clearance, paving, new seating and – in the future – an entertaining ball game. The aim is to increase the overall quality of the location for the guests of Rigi, for the employees of Rigi Railways and for the people of Vitznau.
The Rigi visitor journey starts in Vitznau. What once was waiting time for the next train, will be turned into experience time.
