«Binzenwahrheiten» – Competition Entry
The Binz 111 building forms an analogue, social platform for a lively community. The signage concept complements this with a digital, social platform for a lively exchange between the tenants and the neighbourhood. With the # hashtags, content initiated and managed by residents and the administration can be distributed quickly, cost-effectively and easily via Twitter.
The idea of the «Binzenwahrheiten» (Binzen truths) as surprising and humorous signage elements is also captivating and gives the area a poetic and sensual character. The jury discussed at length the life span of the Twitter sign #hashtag: will the sign still have the same topicality in five years?
